Utterly charming and with a farmhouse vibe, the Blomhuset house is the ideal accommodation for travelers and for professionals on temporary work assignments who choose the road less taken. History buffs will swoon over its intricate period details.

As you approach this unique property, you’ll step onto the small porch with ornamental balusters and handrails. Enter the vintage front door into the vestibule that leads to the kitchen, living area and staircase to the second floor.

A colorful and eclectic kitchen, with marmoleum floor tiles, provides all the modern amenities for today’s travelers, including full-size, stainless-steel electric range, microwave, refrigerator and dishwasher. A coffee maker rests on the counter with an electric mixer and blender stored conveniently in kitchen cabinets. Guests will prepare delicious meals with pots and pans and serve them on plates, bowls and tableware in the nearby dining area suitable for four or more.

Kick back on the living area’s sofa and armchairs with coffee- and side-tables. Then stream their favorite shows and movies on a Smart TV with Hulu+Live TV with no ads using our Gigabit-speed Wifi.

A full-size bathroom with walk-in shower and washer/dryer are just steps away, as is the back entry to the carport with enough space for two vehicles.

Climb the vintage (and somewhat steep) staircase to the bedrooms and a full bathroom nestled in the second floor. Guests will have a great night’s sleep on a queen-size Casper mattress in one bedroom and a king-size Casper mattress in the other. Like the living area, each bedroom has a Smart TV for streaming services and Hulu+Live TV no ads. For guests on a workcation, each bedroom has a desk and office chair. Closets for hanging clothing are discretely and cleverly behind sliding doors in the knee walls for each bedroom. The second-floor bathroom conveniently offers a shower with bathtub.

Towards the back door of the home on this first level is a bath with an oval step-in shower and simply stunning multi-colored hand-hewn wood floors. The stacked washer/dryer is just steps away, smartly hidden behind a screen door.

While decorated in the grandmillenial style, the all-electric Blomhuset defines carbon-free sustainability. The original home was insulated to today’s standards keep the outdoor temperatures where they belong – outdoors. The interior is heated and cooled with high-efficiency electric heat pumps, often called minisplits. Water for the showers, sinks and laundry is warmed with electric water heaters, again integrated with heat pumps. Appliances are Energy Star cerftified and plumbing fixtures minimize water consumption. And if you drive and arrive with an electric vehicle, we can provide an EV charger with advance notice.

On a pleasant day or evening, enjoy your time outdoors at the patio just to the north, between Blomhuset and Skönhuset. A propane grill can be provided upon request.
